This tall vase was created during my residency at BigCi Australia. It features the cascading leaves and blossoms of Sydney Red Gum (Angophora costata), from Wollemi National Park.
The vase is built in warm grainy clay, painted with slips and underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. The exterior is unglazed, giving the plant a velvety matte quality. The inside is clear glazed.
