Sturt Desert Rose (Gossypium sturtianum) is a surprisingly lush sight in dry creek beds along the Larapinta Trail.
The vase is made from smooth red clay, painted with underglaze and carved to create the botanical design. It is clear glazed inside and outside. The glaze gives the clay a darker chocolate-brown tone that contrasts with the colourful plant.
