This large vase features one of my favourite plants, Pincushion Hakea (Hakea laurina) from Western Australia.
The pot is coil-built in sandy clay, painted with multiple shades of underglaze and carved to create the botanical design. It is glazed inside and on the leaves and flowers only, leaving the textured clay background bare.
