This chunky bowl features Broad-Leaved Paperbark from Hinchinbrook Island in Northern Queensland.
It is built in warm clay, painted with white slip and oxides, and deeply carved to create the botanical design and surface texture. The outside has a matte glaze on the plant, while the toasty, textured clay background is unglazed and matte. The inside has a glossy clear glaze, giving the clay a creamy, speckled appearance.
