This large vase was inspired by my trip to Western Australia during wildflower season. It features the pale leaves and enormous blossoms of Mottlecah (Eucalyptus macrocarpa).
The vase is built in smooth white clay, painted with slips and underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. The exterior is glazed on the plant only, with a matte clay background. The inside is clear glazed.
