This vase was inspired by walking the Cape to Cape trail in Western Australia during wildflower season. It features Giant Banksia (Banksia grandis).
The vase is built in smooth white clay, painted with slips and underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. The exterior is glazed on the plant only, leaving the clay background matte. The inside is clear glazed.
