Drooping Velvet-Bush

A$300.00

In late 2024 I hiked the Great South West Walk in Victoria, on Gunditjmara Country. For 14 days, I walked 262 km along forest trails, river banks, beaches and cliff tops. Returning to the studio, I made a series of 14 vessels depicting the plants I saw on each day of my walk.

This small vase features Drooping Velvet-Bush (Lasiopetalum schulzenii), a rare plant on the cliffs near Cape Nelson.

It is built in smooth white clay, painted with indigo underglaze, and carved to create the surface design. It is clear glazed on the inside. The outside is unglazed, with a slight sheen to the indigo underglaze and a matte clay background.

Dimensions: H 10.5 x W 9 cm
