This vase features the red, green and salmon-pink flowers of Common Correa (Correa flexuosa), which is native to my local area.
The vase is built in warm clay, with the rim shaped to reflect the form of the flowers. It is painted with slip and underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. A clear glaze is applied on the plant design. The inside has a glossy celadon-green glaze.
