This large vase was inspired by walking the Cape to Cape trail in Western Australia during wildflower season. It features Boranup Mallee (Eucalyptus calcicola) which grows in a small area near Cape Hamelin.
The vase is built in smooth white clay, painted with slips and underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. The exterior is unglazed, with a velvety matte quality. The inside is clear glazed.
