This medium vase was inspired by walking the Thorsborne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island in far north Queensland. It features the rare Blue Banksia (Banksia plagiocarpa) which grows only in the Hinchinbrook region.
The open, deep bowl form is built in sand-coloured clay, painted with slips and underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. It has a glossy clear glaze on the outside and a shiny speckled green glaze on the inside.
