This medium vase was inspired by walking the Thorsborne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island in far north Queensland. It features Beach Morning Glory (Ipomoea pes-caprae), a native plant that grows on beaches throughout the global tropics.
The gourd-shaped vase is built in sand-coloured clay, painted with slips and underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. It has a glossy clear glaze inside and outside.
